Sacramento to Rio Vista and back

These pictures document the trip I took from Lake Washington (the Port of Sacramento) to Rio Vista and back on July 1st, 2005. I rode my bike from Lake Washington to Rio Vista and sailed back from Rio Vista up the shipping channel to Lake Washington. It was 70 miles of biking and sailing! It was a 36.89 mile bike ride (38.72 after the unintentional detour) that took me 2 hours and 49 minutes to ride (plus about 10 minutes of breaks and 10 minutes on the ferry) and a 31.66 mile sail that took 6 hours and 45 minutes. It would have been a lot faster if the wind had been consistent or its normal strength! See the map picture for details of the route.

This is the map of the route - The sail track is the dark blue line & the bike route is the red and yellow line
